Amana Constructed Grandweld Shipyards Secures LEED Gold Certification

The US Green Building Council (USGBC) has accredited Grandweld Shipyard’s Dubai Maritime City facilities with LEED Gold certification. The two-storey office and workshop facility was designed and constructed to save 21% in energy costs and 40% in water use annually. Five percent of the building’s electricity needs is provided through renewable energy providing over 600 tons of fewer carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions annually.
